| The VE-262 Smart Camera is a complete machine vision system
integrated in a single compact package. The system includes an optional environmental
enclosure that allows operation in wet and corrosive conditions. The VE-262 incorporates a monochrome camera with a 486PC (including hard
disk, RAM, video card and Windows operating system), and a DSP frame grabber for
rapid image processing. All components are contained within the compact and portable
anodized "softshell" housing. This lightweight softshell package nests inside
the optional "hardshell" housing. The hardshell is an O-ringed sealed cast
aluminum enclosure designed for mechanical protection, even submersion*. The anodized
hardshell is epoxy coated for corrosion resistance and complies with USDA standards for
incidental food contact. The softshell includes interfaces for VGA monitor, keyboard,
serial mouse, parallel device, Power, TTL, RS232 and RS170, all easily accessed from the
rear panel like a standard PC. The hardshell is supplied with a 3 metre waterproof
umbilical which allows remote operation and monitoring. The complete package has been
tested for thermal, vibration and submersion extremes.
The VE-262 is supplied with VE-Tools, a windows based visual programming environment that
facilitates programming for specialist and non-specialist. The VE-262 also comes with a complete image processing function
library. All of the functions are available in DOS/Windows libraries. The
compilers supported are: Microsoft Visual C/C++ and Borland C/C++.
The VE-262 Smart Camera can automate a wide range of vision
tasks such as surveillance, detection, counting, measuring and inspection. The Smart
Camera has been applied in applications ranging from underwater fish counting to robot
vision. The VE-262's versatility, processing power, ruggedness, and ease of use make it
the system of choice among smart cameras. Contact us today for more information or to
discuss your application requirements.

VE-Tools is a visual programming facility supplied with the
VE-262 machine vision platform or equivalent. This Windows based software lets users
create custom image analysis applications. The over 80 image processing functions,
available as icons, can be assembled in a visual flowchart and then compiled directly as
executable code.
VE-Tools enables non-specialists to create applications and
allows specialists rapid prototyping of logic and graphical user interface. With VE-Tools
the time and cost of coding and debugging machine vision applications can be substantially
reduced. |
